The individual 90 days business coaching is different from all the above mentioned as it puts focus on the specific business context in which the person will work and the first crucial 90 days of a professional change at the end of which concrete results must be delivered. Anyone to whom you will report your performance results does not have the time to train you and appropriately follow you in this delicate start up of your professional journey. We need to have a clear picture in mind of our ideal job in order to start looking for it or at least get close to it. The clearest the mental picture the easiest will be to search and to find that job. The objectives of this coaching session are:

  1. to guide individuals in designing the image of their ideal job;
  2. to search for it in a concrete way to reach a result;
  3. to understand the key elements of individual performance and how to maintain it over time.

Experience demonstrates that this methodology is 12 times more effective than just mailing randomly a Curriculum Vitae which still seems to be the widely followed approach by anyone willing to enter the job market for the first time or looking for a job change. This means that you could ideally achieve in 1 month what the most used method could reach in a full year of search!

More specifically:

  • To run a detailed inventory of our own Inner Talent in terms of Personal Values, acquired Knowledge up to this point of your life and the Transferable Competencies which you by far like to employ in the job market.
  • To define as a second step in a very specific way your ideal working environment as any Talent needs the right working environment in which to grow and flourish.
  • To be able to exactly define, after an iterative process based on personal research and network interviews:
    1. the desired job title;
    2. the names of the firms and organizations in your preferred geography which offer the kind of job you are looking for;
    3. the names of the persons inside those organizations who have the power to hire you;
    4. the most effective way to meet those persons and to show them how your Talent can be of value for them.

Few companies openly teach a newly hired Manager or a Manager with a new responsibility how to accelerate their personal transition into the new job. As for newly hired Managers specifically, there commonly exist companies which plan to organize short meetings with the different department Directors. Current times put an enormous pressure on short term results and the progressive flattening of hierarchies does not allow bosses to have quality time to be invested on the transition of a newly hired Manager.
The result is that newly hired Managers with a high potential fail their introduction after a few months with related losses for the company on top of the hiring cost because it can negatively impact on the image among clients, banks, suppliers and on the energy of the entire organization.

This individual coaching session has the objective to support the manager in the first crucial 90 days of the new responsibility in the Company.

  1. To help the Manager to “mentally break” with the previous job and to focus on the new one in order to minimize the risk to only readapt what has worked in the past.
  2. To accelerate a general understanding of the market, the competitors, the products, the technologies, systems, structure, culture and management style in the new Company.
  3. To run a very accurate diagnosis of the specific business situation faced by the new Company (start up, turnaround, realignment, continuation of success) and to identify a list of challenges and opportunities agreed with the new Boss.
  4. To quickly achieve some first personal successes:
    • to identify the areas on which to concentrate in the first 90 days (a couple as a maximum),
    • to understand the Company culture,
    • to identify 1-2 results which could energize the direct reports and the Boss.
  5. To simultaneously build the basis for objectives in the next 2-3 years in terms of both business results and desired behaviours of the Manager’s team. A list of priorities is agreed with the new Boss.
  6. To connect with the entire organization in order to build a personal credibility and to avoid possible crisis or surprises around the corner.
  7. To build the basis of an effective and long term relationship with the new Boss.

Last, some Entrepreneurs with an already operating enterprise face the opportunity to expand their business or forced to turnaround it in order to survive.
